DAIN Moodle
MOODLE will be used as part of the DAIN community learning environment and will be a platform for online learning. It will also contain important policies and guidance for volunteers, and be a tool which volunteers will use to keep records etc.
Moodle is designed to help educators create online courses with opportunities for rich interaction. Its open source license and modular design mean that people can develop additional functionality. Development is undertaken by a globally diffused network of commercial and non-commercial users, streamlined by the Moodle company based in Perth, Western Australia.
MOODLE is an open-source e-learning software platform, also known as a Course Management System, Learning Management System, or Virtual Learning Environment. It has a significant user base with over 50,000 registered sites with over 30,000,000 users in 2.7 million courses (as of March, 2009).
